Tesla Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI)

Buying a used Tesla? We inspect it before you pay — real battery state of health, drive unit, charging, software and accident history, plus a written report you can use to negotiate or walk away.

What a Tesla pre-purchase inspection includes

A pre-purchase inspection (PPI) is an independent mechanical and electronic check of a car carried out before you buy it. On a gasoline car most of the risk hides under the hood; on a Tesla the expensive unknowns are invisible — battery degradation, a pack that was already replaced or repaired, drive unit noise, a chassis that was straightened after a crash, and paid software features that were never actually attached to the VIN. We scan the car with Tesla-specific tools, test drive it, photograph everything and give you a written report with the fault codes and realistic repair costs, so you negotiate with facts instead of the seller's word. Inspections usually take place at the seller's location anywhere in Miami-Dade and Broward County and take 60 to 90 minutes. Many buyers book us before they even leave a deposit, and international buyers use the same report before shipping a car out of the USA.

What Our Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) Covers

Battery State of Health Report

We read the BMS and calculate the real usable capacity and degradation percentage for that specific pack, so you know the range you are actually buying — not the number in the listing.

High-Voltage Battery Diagnostics

Full HV scan for cell imbalance, module faults, isolation errors, BMS code history and any sign of a previous pack repair or replacement.

Supercharging & Charging Test

We verify DC fast charging and AC home charging, inspect the charge port pins, onboard charger and cable condition, and confirm Supercharger access on the vehicle.

Drive Unit & Motor Check

Road test plus scan for drive unit whine, vibration, coolant leaks, half-shaft and CV joint wear — the most expensive failure after the battery on dual-motor cars.

Suspension, Steering & Brakes

Air suspension leaks and compressor health, control arms, bushings, uneven tire wear, brake pad and rotor thickness, brake fluid and alignment condition.

Software, MCU & Autopilot Hardware

Confirmed infotainment computer generation, Autopilot/FSD hardware version, and whether paid features such as FSD, Premium Connectivity or free Supercharging transfer with the car.

Warranty & Service History Review

Remaining new-vehicle, battery and drive unit warranty calculated from build date and mileage, plus available Tesla service history and open recalls by VIN.

Accident, Paint & Body Inspection

Panel gap measurements and paint depth readings to catch repaint or collision repair, with a close look at the undercarriage and battery shield for impact damage.

VIN & Title History Check

VIN decode plus accident, odometer, salvage, flood, theft and lemon-brand records where available, and signs of prior rental, fleet or rideshare use.

Interior, Glass & Water Leak Check

Roof glass and sunroof drains, door and trunk seals, water intrusion, screen delamination, seat and trim wear, plus HVAC and heat pump performance.

Odometer & Equipment Verification

Odometer consistency across modules, and an inventory of everything included: mobile connector, adapters, key cards, fobs and charging equipment.

Written Report & Buying Advice

A clear report with photos, stored fault codes, estimated repair costs and a fair-value opinion — delivered before you commit to the purchase.
